Scripture: 1 John 4:7-10
We usually see books about Leadership in the list of most-selling books. Most of the books talk about the leadership skills and personality needed to become a Leader. But Henri Nouwen, a dutch priest, wrote a book named – In the name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership. Henri, who initially worked as a professor at a university, ministered amongst mentally unstable elders for many years. He says, “It is not important to know how many people consider you an important person, rather what you are going to accomplish and what change you are bringing to society through your work is very important. But do you love Jesus? In a world filled with loneliness and hopelessness, people with a heart to forgive, care for others, and heal others through building relationships are most needed.”
In this, the Love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is Love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:9,10.
Nouwen writes that a Christian Leader knows the heart of God, Jesus Christ, who came as the flesh on this earth. In Him, we find and experience God’s unconditional and limitless Love.
