Scripture: Micah 6:3-8
When we start a new year, we make many resolutions. To save money, to follow a fitness regime, to spend less time on the internet, and so on. We start a year with these promising visions. But within a few days, our old habits attract us, and we become the same old person. We slip pretty sometimes. And then very often. Later we forget our resolutions.
Instead of making resolutions for your self-improvement, ask yourself, is there a better way? “What does God like in me?” To do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly, says the Lord through prophet Micah in Micah 6:8. All these are beneficial for self-improvement and soul-improvement.
It is a good thing that we need not depend on our strengths. As believers of Christ, we have the Holy Spirit to help us. He may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (Ephesians 3:16) says the Holy Bible.
So, as we start this new year, let us resolve to become more like Christ. When we humble ourselves and desire to walk with the Holy Spirit, He will help us.
