The compassion of Jesus

Today’s verse: Matthew 9: 37-38
37. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38. “Therefore pray that the Lord of harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Scripture: Matthew 9:27-38

Jesus healed every sickness and every disease among the people (verse 35). There is nothing that Jesus cannot heal. His compassion is great. Let us have faith in Him with whole-heartedness.

Two blind men healed (verse 27-31):

Anybody who came to Jesus with any kind of sickness or disease was healed. But these two blind men had not seen Him healing others. Maybe they would have heard about His healing through others. As they came to Jesus seeking His compassion, they confessed that He has the power to heal. Only after their confession, Jesus healed them seeing their faith. We should also keep confessing the faith we have in Him rather than complaining about the illness. We are measured by our faith. Even if it is of a mustard size, when we have faith without any doubt, we will receive His miracles in our lives for sure. It is also a way to glorify Jesus.

The mute man speaks (verse 32-34):

Our life will be like a dry land unless we glorify the power of Jesus and confess that He is the true God (Luke 8:13-15). It is also a cunning plan of satan to keep us from confessing His glory. When Jesus cast out the demon, the mute man was able to speak. The reply of the Pharisees who saw this incident was of ignorance (verse 34). But those opinions or judgments by the people around Him never affected Him or stopped Him from doing what He was called to do. He kept moving from place to place without any delay to fulfill the vision God had given Him.

He is still looking for people to save the brokenhearted and those who do not know that Jesus is the true God. How important it is for the world that is dying in front of us today! Let us pray with a burdened heart to the Lord to rise up servants of God all over the world, especially to reach the unreached in the nook and corners of the world.

Take time to think about how you can show the compassion of Jesus to today’s world through your life!

Master of everything,
Mold me to harvest souls for you as a true servant. Amen!
