Today’s verse: Psalm 69:1,2
Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
Scripture: Matthew 14:22-36
All those who have been praying really hard for all the struggles yet have not received an answer – here is a piece of good news for you. All situations are under God’s control. Even if it’s getting delayed, God will do a miracle in your life!
The secret of Almighty (verse 22,23):
Jesus Christ, Himself is strong. Yet He isolated Himself on a mountain and prayed. The relationship that He had with the Father strengthened Him (Luke 22:41-44). So He gave all the glory to the Father. If we are in a tight spot like the disciples we should overcome it by building our relationship with God. We will see victory because God is our strength.
The act of Almighty (verse 24-27):
The boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. The disciples were troubled seeing the situation around them (Exodus 14:1-25). Now in the fourth watch of the night (around 3 am), Jesus went to them walking on the sea. The disciples who got tired by the time couldn’t identify Jesus. Jesus walked on the same waves which scared the disciples. Jesus cheered the disciple who screamed in fear (verse 27). The disciples who were depressed of so many troubles lost the ability to see out of fear. But remember, Jesus, walks on the trouble and strengthens and cheers us up.
The encouragement of Almighty (verse 28-36):
The world is filled with cunning people who make sure that others shouldn’t come up in life like them. But if Jesus had thought that if Peter walks on the sea He wouldn’t get all the honor, appreciation, and familiarity, then this incident would have taken place in a different way. Also if we look at Peter, when he concentrated on the situation around instead of looking at Jesus, he started sinking. Jesus instead of scolding him questioned His faith. He lifted him up saying, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Psalm 69:1,2)We can never get such encouraging words from anybody in situations like these!
Remember, Our Jesus is not the One who troubles us, instead, He helps us to build our faith.
Dear God,
Thank You for encouraging me no matter what situation I go through. Amen!
