Flee from sin…

Now Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her and lay with her, and violated her. Genesis 34:1,2.

Dinah was a young woman. As we read in the above verses she went out to roam with her friends and ended up losing her virginity. Not only that, she brought disgrace to the nation of Israel.

A gracious woman retains honor… Proverbs 11:16.

As a woman, our priority should be our family. Staying at home and taking care of the needs of our family is more important than roaming out with our friends and gossiping. Today take time in examining yourself. Where do you spend most of your time? Where are your legs staying? We see how Dinah roamed with her friends and brought curses to the family. It is not bad to have friends or spend time with them. But how healthy the friendship is and how fruitful the friendship is to your life? Is it bringing a curse to your life or is it building your life in Christ?

What kind of woman are we? Do we lead a holy life? Are we living a blameless life in the sight of God? It is good that we are praying and reading Bible. It is good that we have a prayer with our family every day. But how is our life in secret? Is it holy? Is it pure? Is it blameless?

God is expecting holiness in us. Sometimes we talk about unwanted things and destroy our family life. The Bible says,

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking. But he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:19.

God hates lustful thoughts, sexual immorality, and adultery. We should not give place for such things in our lives. As a woman, we should pray more to overcome such temptations that satan brings into our lives.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1.

During our young age, as a young girl, we should choose to obey our parents at home, teachers at school/college. We should not lead an undisciplined life. We should be very cautious about our youth days.

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12.

Let the above verse be engraved in your heart today. We should be an example to others. We should run away from sins and temptations like Joseph. If Joseph could do that why not you and I do that too? We serve the same God whom Joseph served. The God who helped Joseph to flee from sin will help us to flee from it as well. The only thing is we need to seek His help.

Today, take a firm decision to flee from all sinful ways and be a blessing to your family.

…will be continued!
