Scripture: Ruth 2:8-23
Today’s Bible passage is the middle part of the book of Ruth. We see the blessings that Ruth received in this passage.
Divine Protection (verses 8,9):
Ruth was blessed because she chose to depend on the God of Israel. Boaz permitted her to gather grains from the field and commanded his servant to see that nobody touched her. God commands His angels to protect us in our journey of life (Isaiah 44:1,2; Daniel 6:20-22).
Divine Mercy (verses 9,10):
Ruth was a Moabite woman. Not easily accepted by the Israelites. And Boaz was a rich man. Yet he showed favor to Ruth and spoke to her with love, care, and compassion (Luke 1:46-49). When we feel low in spirit and lonely, we can be sure that God is with us and comforts us.
Divine Fellowship (verses 14):
Boaz, having food with Ruth and all the workers in the field shows us a fellowship. Having fellowship with Godly people is very important for one’s growth.
Divine Support (verses 15-23):
Boaz took a step to support Naomi and Ruth (John 1:12; Romans 8:14,15). Gives her enough wheat and sends her home with a whole heart. God supports us even during the famine and dry seasons of our lives.
Ask yourself, what should you do to be blessed like Ruth?
Dear God,
Make me a worthy person to receive Your blessings. Amen.
