Confession and Call!

Today’s verse: Psalm 46:10
Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Scripture: Psalm 62

It is only during trials one can know his/her depth of faith. In today’s passage, we see David’s faith who had been facing problems continuously. (Make sure to read the Scripture portion before reading this)

Confession about his faith life (verse 1-7):

If we are trusting God, 1. Our soul will silently wait (verse 1): The Bible says, whoever believes will not act hastily (Isaiah 28:16). So if you trust God wait silently. Psalm 46:10 says, Be still and know that I am God. 2. Our soul will find hope in God (verse 5): This hope is because we believe that our salvation comes from the Lord.  3.Our soul will confess (verse 2,6): Our soul knows whom it trusts and it confesses about it. We see the confession of the faith warriors Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed Nego in the book of Daniel. We see what would be the end of the enemies who don’t believe God in verses 3 and 4.

A call to our life in faith (verse 8-12):

David calls us to tell our problems to God and trust Him always (verse 8). From his experience, he also asks us not to set our hearts on riches and violence (verse 10). We know the end of the people who believe in violence and riches. It is a failure. We see many who call themselves Christians but have no faith in Christ. We must bring them to Christ. It is God’s love, grace, and power that will change them but He will use us as a tool to do so!

Remember,
Unless you confess Christ in your personal life, you won’t be able to confess about Him in public.

God,
Increase my faith in you and give me the grace to bring people into your faith. Amen!
