Today’s verse: Philippians 3:8
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
Scripture 5: 1 – 12
In today’s passage, we read some simple practical advice to lead a blessed life. Everybody desires to lead a blessed life. Nobody wants to be in misery. But do we strive to have the qualities that God wants us to have in order to be blessed? Today we are going to meditate on some of the qualities that God expects us to have to be blessed.
Internal conditions: (verse 3-6,8)
We need to have some internal dedication in us to lead a blessed life. We should dedicate ourselves to follow certain things live a blessed life. They are –
1. Lead a simple life depending on God.
2. Have the consciousness of grief towards the situation you are in because of your sins.
3. Have self-control and be calm.
4. Desire to walk on the righteous path.
5. Have a clean heart with honest intentions.
These qualities will help you to lead a blessed life.
External conditions: (verse 7,9-11)
It is not enough to have changed internally but be the same outside. The changes should also be visible outside through our actions. We should be kind to others by being able to depict the kindness that Jesus showed to the thieves on the cross. Also, we live in a world where human relationships have become more complicated. But God wants us to be an instrument in creating peace and joy in relationships. It is a blessing to build relationships in humans as a child of God. It is not easy to be such a person that God wants us to be. But when you yield yourself to God and strive to be such a person, no matter what difficulties you face because of it, God will bless you more and more.
Remember,
We should seek Godly blessings more than worldly blessings.
Father,
Give me the grace to live a truthful life in front of You and to discipline myself according to Your Word. Amen.
