Last month we read satan questioned Eve, “ “Has God indeed said, “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1). Here is the continuation…

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; “but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” (Genesis 3:2,3)

Immediately the serpent replied cunningly, “You will not surely die. “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4,5)

Eve should have chosen to obey the Word of God. But she gave hears to satan and ate the fruit which is in the midst of the garden. Not only that she also gave it to her husband Adam. Adam also ate it and they both sinned! Now that their eyes were open when God called them, they hid because they were afraid of their nakedness. (Genesis 3:8)

Eve who has to build the house has destroyed it. The family is cursed now because of Eve. We can see how a family is cursed because of the woman in the family.  

…that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. (Titus 2:4-5)

Eve should have informed her husband before taking the fruit. Because she obeyed satan and ate the fruit, the family was cursed. And today because of the first woman the entire world s cursed. 

Once I read in a newspaper that two young boys were killed in a bus in a small village in India. And the story behind the news was like this. Those two boys were actually siblings and their father was killed a few years ago by some men. They also killed their father’s brother and their grandfather. Since they killed all the men in their family, the mother of these boys, kept telling the boys from their very young age how their father, grandfather, and uncle were killed. She also went to an extent and insisted they to kill the opponent when they grow up. This was deeply inscribed in the heart of the two children and when they grew up, they killed everyone who was involved in the murder of their father, uncle, and grandfather. Now the opponent’s family waited for the right time and murdered the two boys on the bus and burnt the bus. The mother who has to give wisdom to the children taught evil things, thus the family was cursed! A mother should teach her children the word of God, incidents from the Bible, worship songs but she taught her children to take revenge, and that brought curses to the family. 

As a woman, we should not bring a curse to our family. We shouldn’t destroy our family. If we are being such a woman, if we repent, God will bless our family and make us a blessing to our family.
